Scotland’s North Coast 500 has, in the decade since someone at North Highland Initiative coined the name and put it on a map, transformed from a well-kept local secret into one of the most discussed motorcycle routes in Europe. It has also, inevitably, developed a capacity for traffic that its A-roads were not designed to accommodate. None of which changes the fundamental fact: 516 miles of Scottish coastline, single-track road, mountain pass, and Atlantic light that does things in the evening no other country manages. If you haven’t ridden it, you should. If you have, you know exactly why people keep going back.

KLIM GT1 Expedition — five years in development, now shipping
KLIM spent five years developing the GT1 Expedition, which is either an encouraging sign of thoroughness or a reminder that the helmet industry moves at a pace that would make a tortoise feel rushed. The result is a hand-laid carbon fibre shell, a Koroyd and EPS impact system, a photochromic visor, and an integrated infrared heat shield. It also pairs with KLIM’s new Rogue™ armour system, standard in all 2026 KLIM outerwear and backwards compatible with older gear. Pricing has not been announced with any particular enthusiasm.
Sign-off
The summer break runs until Brno, August 2nd. Three weeks in which Martín leads by 14 points, Márquez presumably trains, and Bezzecchi hopes a fortnight is sufficient time to mend whatever the qualifying crash had opinions about.
